Last minute booking as a stop over travelling down to Cornwall. It was a perfectly suitable room, with the stay being made by the entertaining and friendly personality of the landlord. The food was good, plentiful and good to see a traditional log fire roaring away.

This is a lovely building, and despite really needing some money spent on it, the character comes through. In all essentials this place delivers - fantastic old traditional pub/inn. The staff really help as they went out for their way to accommodate a hotel full of us cyclists there for the Tour of Wessex. I stayed 5 nights, making a bit of a holiday around the 3-day event. Our bikes were stored, and breakfast was shifted as early as possible to help our getting to the event. Evening food was lovely in the pleasant dining room, beautifully cooked, and fresh, honest, healthy pub food. The ale is well kept, and the bar is friendly, comfortable and interesting. Well done Tracey and Kevin for running a great warm place, retaining loyal and quality staff, and a talented chef. Thanks for the stay - be back next time with friends/partner, maybe just for a holiday this time.

This weekend is the tour of Wessex weekend and I have stayed here thoughout all of it, this place is fabulous! The kitchen created a pasta menu just for us cyclists which was all beautifully cooked and tasted amazing! All the food was hot and very quick to come out! And the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The staff and managers were always about to help with any problems I had. My bike was carefully stored away each night which was wonderful. The breakfasts in the morning were very quick and nice and got me ready for the cycling for the day. I advise anyone to come to the unicorn hotel in somerton because it is a lovely place to be.

Called in for lunch on 26th May. The premises are olde worlde which we quite like. Would not be to everyones liking though. There is a huge inglenook fireplace which we would imagine to be lovely to sit and admire during the winter months. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food quality was to a high standard and reasonably priced. All in all a good experience.
